Writing a Letter to the Government: a Case Study

30 minutes for writing a letter that will never reach them

If you are on the government’s website, you will easily find a couple of pieces of advice for writing a letter:

Choosing the recipient – 1 minute
Write to the Prime Minister
Write to the government’s press service
Write to the AAPC leader

Opening the envelope – 4 minutes

Regardless of which of the three options you might choose, a window will pop up containing nine points that must be read, which inform you that not all letters will be taken into consideration, but “only the electronic addresses which contain the exact description of the considered problem will be examined and the size of the text must not exceed 2,000 characters; letters that do not contain this information, mandatory requested in the address form will not be read.”

Writing the letter – 15 minutes

After you go through these steps another window will open for you. In it you must write your name, surname, date of birth and email address, after which you must write your problem in 2,000 characters or less. It is about the size of a text page in which you should write your letter. You must not miss any of the above mentioned conditions referring to the exact data and size of the letter, otherwise you will have to spend time shortening it.

Entering in the code – 10 minutes + 20 minutes

If you have composed your letter, one small thing is to be done – to enter the code shown in the image next to it. So, in the indicated box you type ‘mnjk’. You will be informed that you have not written the correct code and another one will be given to you – ‘uV4dc’, yet if you type this one it will also tell you it is not correct and you will receive another one. It will take you about 10 minutes to realise that something is wrong and that you have to start from the very beginning. You will again do the one minute operation, and then the four minutes one, and then the 15 minutes one, until you reach the ‘code’ operation. You can repeat the trick as many times as you wish. The result will be the same, and namely the one we at the Ziarul de Gardă received many times.
RESULT:
Your letter has not been sent.
