The four people who “vouched” for Vladimir Andronachi’s release do not risk any criminal liability if the former Democratic MP should evade prosecution or leave the country. This information was given to the press by acting Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu.

According to him, the only punishment for the four guarantors, in case Vladimir Andronachi should evade prosecution or flee the country, would be the confiscation of the money they offered as a guarantee, i.e. three of them would lose 5000 lei and one person would be left without 7000 lei.

A priest, two mayors from Cahul district and a pensioner who holds the “Gloria Muncii” Order are the “guarantees” that allowed Vladimir Andronachi’s release from house arrest, law enforcement sources told ZdG. Subsequently, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) confirmed the information published by ZdG about guarantees that allowed Vladimir Andronachi’s release from house arrest.

Three of the four guarantors for the release of the former MP Andronachi are exponents of the Democratic Party and were candidates of the party in the local elections of 2019 and early parliamentary elections of 2010, according to TV8 sources.

They are the mayor of Găvănoasa village Vadim Ivanov, the mayor of Zîrnești village Nicolae Beju and the former principal of “Mihai Eminescu” High School in Cahul Ala Gaidar.
