The Socialists Sign a Declaration for Not Dissolving the Parliament

The attempt to form the Grosu Government failed due to a lack of quorum in the Parliament. This happened after the deputies of the Socialist Party, Shor Party, and the For Moldova faction left the sitting. As the second attempt to form a government failed, the president of the country has the right to dissolve the parliament and to trigger early parliamentary elections. President Sandu announced consultations with the parliamentary factions for today to discuss the Parliament’s dissolution. The Socialist Party, Shor Party, the For Moldova, and Pro Moldova factions requested another day for consultations and signed a declaration for not dissolving the Parliament.

“We ask the Presidency another day for consultations. Today, the deputies are busy in the Parliament,” said the leader of the socialist faction.

The Socialist Party, the Shor Party, the For Moldova, and Pro Moldova factions signed a declaration stating their disagreement on the dissolution of the Parliament.

“The Socialists propose a declaration stating their disagreement on the dissolution of the Parliament. They want to remain in the Parliament to do what they know best – to impoverish this country,” said the Action and Solidarity Party deputy, Sergiu Litvinenco.
