Moldova’s Ambassadors Abroad Are Recalled
President Igor Dodon recalled ambassadors of Moldova from three Western countries.
On June 5, Dodon signed the decrees, recalling three ambassadors:
- Ala Beleavschi – Moldova’s Ambassador to Canada;
- Victor Osipov – Moldova’s Ambassador to Austria and the Slovak Republic, Moldova’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE and Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna;
- Mihai Gribincea – Moldova’s Ambassador to Romania, Montenegro, and Serbia.
Ala Beleavschi was appointed Moldova’s Ambassador to Canada in October 2013. Previously, she served as Director of the Department of Bilateral Cooperation within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
Victor Osipov was Deputy Prime Minister for the Reintegration of Moldova in the Government led by former Prime Minister Vlad Filat between September 25, 2009 – January 14, 2011, and in the Government led by Chiril Gaburici and the Government led by Valeriu Streleț, between February 18, 2015 – January 20, 2016.
In May 2017, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Austria, Moldova’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, the UN Office and the International Organizations in Vienna.
Mihai Gribincea was appointed Moldova’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Romania, by a decree of former President of Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, on November 5, 2015.
Decrees on the appointment of new ambassadors to Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Latvia, and Italy were also published in the new edition of the Official Gazette.
