Moldova Appointed New Ambassadors in Seven European States
President Igor Dodon signed the decrees appointing new ambassadors to seven European states.
On May 27, Dodon signed the decrees appointing the new ambassadors. According to the decree, Moldova will have new ambassadors in Latvia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, and Italy.
The list with the new Moldova’s Ambassadors in the seven European countries:
- Andrian Roșa – Ambassador to Latvia;
- Alexandru Codreanu – ambassador to the Czech Republic;
- Anatol Ciubuc – Ambassador to Bulgaria;
- Alexei Cracan – Ambassador to Portugal;
- Igor Bodiu – Ambassador to Poland;
- Larisa Miculeț – ambassador to Ireland;
- Anatolie Urecheanu – Ambassador to Italy.
” In discussions with each of them, we stressed the importance of deepening relations with the seven states in order to strengthen trade and economic relations, attract foreign direct investment, improve relations at the regional level, expand cultural and humanitarian contacts, and exchange of visits at the level of heads of state,” Dodon wrote on Facebook.
The Cabinet of Ministers led by Ion Chicu approved the appointment of the seven ambassadors of Moldova to other states, at the meeting on May 13.
Previously, Dodon gathered Moldova’s ambassadors in Chișinău accusing them of not fulfilling their duties and wasting public money. Dodon was mostly concerned about the lack of investments in the country. Following his speech, the Government recalled six ambassadors and appointed a new ambassador to Turkey.
