Citizens from the capital gave landslide to pro-European PAS, despite the mayor’s pro-Russian allegiance.

The capital sets the tone for the elections. 100% of the ballots processed in Chișinău: PAS wins by a landslide in all sectors of the capital, and takes an absolute majority in the suburbs.

According to the data provided by the Central Electoral Commission, PAS obtained 56.77% of the votes, while the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists obtained 28.40% in Chișinău. 

In the suburbs of the capital, PAS obtained an absolute majority, namely 68.49%.

These repeated results in favour of PAS (after a win in the presidential elections) come despite the fact that the current mayor of Chișinău, Mr Ion Ceban, is a member of the Socialist Party.
