An Israeli citizen, declared inadmissible for five years. The reason given by the Moldovan authorities
A 36-year-old Israeli citizen was detained on 18 July 2023 on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, Border Police announce. The foreigner was allegedly part of criminal structures and intended to commit crimes on the territory of the country in the field of IT, swindling and smuggling money, “obtained by criminal means”. He was declared inadmissible for five years.
The Border Police together with the General Inspectorate for Migration (IGM) and the Special Purpose Police Brigade (BPDS) “Lightning” provided support to the officers of the Organised Crime Investigation Directorate and the Analysis Directorate of the National Investigation Inspectorate (INI) in locating and detaining the foreigner.
He is under criminal investigation in Israel for the crime of banditry and swindling and is a member of a criminal group, according to authorities.
According to the act issued by the General Inspectorate for Migration, the foreigner was declared undesirable for five years in Moldova and handed over to the Border Police to complete the procedure for his removal from the country to Israel by air.
A person may be declared inadmissible if he or she has engaged in, is engaging in or has reasonable grounds to believe that he or she intends to engage in activities that may endanger national security or public order.
