Ilan Shor threatens the government after the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s raids
Fugitive deputy Ilan Shor, said that following the raids carried out on Thursday, October 20, on members and activists of the “Shor” Party in several localities in the country, 5.5 million lei were collected, which “are stolen from the people who want to protest”. The fugitive MP also came up with threats to the current government, in case the 24 people detained following the searches are not released.
“Today, you citizens of Moldova, those who are dissatisfied with the current regime, who go and fight for your future, have been robbed of 5.5 million lei. This is the money that I have given to you, the citizens of Moldova, who are protesting against the regime, the lawlessness, the poverty, the hunger and the cold, so that you can compensate the expenses for transport and food. I want to ask a question, where is this illegal? What illegal thing have we done? For example, Vasile, through his godmother, is sending money to Peter. The same thing happened to us. Why was the people’s money taken? I promised to compensate the expenses for transport and food, which I do.
You today arrested 24 regional leaders of the country’s main opposition party. Is that democratic, is that within the law? We have a firm condition, if within 3 days our regional leaders are not released, then we will come to your home, to your work, where you are resting. And you will not have nightmares in your dreams, but in reality, you have my word”, said Ilan Shor
ZdG contacted the Presidency, the General Inspectorate of Police and the Prosecutor General’s Office to get a reaction to the threats made by Ilan Shor. State officials said that these statements may be commented on by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which is handling the files opened against the Shor Party.
Veronica Dragalin, head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) said at a press conference that the institution is working on a mechanism for communication with the press, which is not yet finalized “We are now as an institution working on the protocol for our communication with the press and we want to assure you that we are working on a process, which will be easily understood by journalists and case prosecutors,” the PA head said.
