Three people, including an inspector from the Agency for Technical Supervision, detained by National Anti-Corruption Centre and prosecutors
An inspector of the Agency for Technical Supervision (AST) and two intermediary persons are the subject of an investigation, conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Centre (CNA) and prosecutors of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA). The prosecution was initiated by the CNA’s prosecution body on reasonable suspicion of committing the crime of passive bribery.
“According to the materials, administered in the criminal proceedings, it appears that, from July 2022 until now, an inspector of AST allegedly demanded and received 4,500 euros to sign the final acceptance report of a housing block in the town of. Ialoveni, without complying with essential requirements. The money was allegedly received from the beneficiary of the building, through an intermediary, both of whom are under criminal investigation in the corruption case,” CNA announced in a press release.
Thus, on the morning of Thursday 25 August, the National Anti-Corruption Centre carried out searches with a view to establishing and documenting all the persons involved in the illegal actions mentioned and bringing them to criminal responsibility.
According to the NAC, the beneficiary of the apartment block, the intermediary and the AST inspector were detained for 72 hours.
