Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have raided Termoelectrica: “The legality of the actions of 13 persons is being verified, and they are summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office for recognition and hearing as suspects”
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office raided SA Termoelectrica on Thursday morning, July 14. Prosecutor Mariana Cherpec, spokeswoman of the General Prosecutor’s Office (PG), announces that the raids were carried out within the framework of a criminal file, opened on the fact of abuse of service admitted in the exercise of duties by employees of SA “Termoelectrica”, manifested by rigging tenders.
“At the moment anti-corruption prosecutors have raided 13 premises of Termoelectrica SA. The raids are part of a criminal case, initiated on the fact of abuse of office (art.327 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code) admitted in the exercise of duties by employees of SA “Termoelectrica”, manifested by rigging tenders”, announced Mariana Cherpec, spokeswoman of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG).
Following the search of the offices of the employees of the Termoelectrica S.A., the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) announces that several documents and writings were seized, material carriers of information, which will be investigated in combination with other evidence administered in the case.
In the criminal case, according to the PA, the legality of the actions of 13 persons, who are being investigated at liberty, is currently being verified and they are summoned to the PA for recognition and hearing as suspects.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the criminal prosecution on this case was initiated on July 12, this year, on the fact of alleged abusive actions admitted by members of the working group created within the S.A. “Termoelectrica”, for the purchase in May-June 2022 of repair works of equipment and other services necessary to ensure its functionality.
