The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Proposes for the year 2022, the Average Monthly Salary of 490 Euros. For 2021, the Average Monthly Salary was 430 Euros

The Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Marcel Spatari, proposes that, for 2022, the amount of the average monthly salary per economy should be 9900 lei (490 euros). A draft decision in this regard is to be examined at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“The project proposes to establish the amount of the average monthly salary per economy, forecast for 2022 in the amount of 9900 lei, according to the forecast of macroeconomic indicators for 2022-2024, estimated by the Ministry of Economy,” the document reads.
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, the draft decision was drawn up for the purpose of:
- determining the ceiling for the calculation of social security benefits;
- determining the monthly insured income of IT park employees;
- determining the number of damages caused to the rights and interests protected by the law of natural or legal persons in case of unfounded refusal to issue the permissive act which led to the restriction of the right to carry out the entrepreneurial activity, including unfounded conduct of controls;
Currently, the average monthly salary in the economy is 8716 lei (430 euros).
