The Case of Anabolics Smuggling with the Involvement of the Diplomatic Mission was Sent to Court
The criminal case of anabolic smuggling involving the former ambassador of Moldova to Moscow, Andrei Neguță and the driver of the car of the diplomatic mission was sent to court.
The prosecutors continue the criminal investigation in order to establish the other participants. In addition, prosecutors have ordered ongoing financial-parallel investigations, which are ongoing.
The attempted smuggling was countered at the Palanca customs post in December 2020. Following the seizure of the goods, law enforcement officers estimated the value of the anabolics to be over 420,000 euros.
In addition to anabolics, the authorities also found psychotropic substances. The consignment of goods continues to be kept in the customs corps of the Customs Service.
According to the law, the incriminated deed is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 10 years.
