President Maia Sandu Met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, During Her Visit to Paris for the Peace Forum
President Maia Sandu had a meeting with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on Friday, November 12, during her visit to Paris for the Peace Forum.
President Maia Sandu discussed with her French counterpart “several issues aimed at intensifying our bilateral relations.”
“We discussed opportunities for cooperation with France in the fields of infrastructure, digitalization, security, and energy efficiency (…). We discussed the development of collaboration between law enforcement agencies in our countries. Capitalizing on these efforts will allow us to restore the functioning of justice in Moldova and to continue to focus on developing the potential of our country,” said the head of state in a post on Facebook.
Maia Sandu pays a working visit to Paris, France, on November 11-12, where she participates in the Peace Forum.
President Sandu will also have several bilateral meetings, including with Alar Karis, the President of Estonia, and Guðni Th. Johannesson, President of Iceland. On the same day, Maia Sandu will deliver a speech on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In France, the head of state will be accompanied by Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, and Cristina Gherasimov, Secretary General of the Presidency.
