    President Maia Sandu will Pay an Official Visit to Austria

    President Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Vienna on October 21-22, at the invitation of her Austrian counterpart, announced the Presidency.

    On October 21, the head of state will have a meeting with the President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, and later the leaders will hold a joint press conference. Maia Sandu will have several meetings with Austrian officials, including Werner Kogler, Deputy Prime Minister, Doris Bures, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Michael Linhart, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs. The head of state will also meet with OSCE Secretary-General Helga Schmid.

    On the evening of October 21, Maia Sandu will discuss with the representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in Austria.

    In Austria, the head of state will be accompanied by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Cristina Gherasimov, and the Presidential Economic Adviser, Veaceslav Negruța. The official delegation also includes the Minister of Economy, Sergiu Gaibu and the Minister of Environment, Iuliana Cantaragiu, deputies Radu Marian, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance, Adrian Belîi, chairman of the Moldova-Austria Friendship Group and Stelian Manic, director of the Agency for Investments.

    According to the Moldovan Presidency, members of the delegation will hold meetings on important issues for the country’s agenda at the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Energy Community Secretariat and will pay a visit to the Spittelau Waste Incineration Center.
