Zelenski: “We Will Offer Enormous Support so the Territories of our States won’t be Occupied by the Russian Armed Forces”
During the meeting with the President of Ukraine Prime Minister Maia Sandu gave assurances that Moldova will become a reliable partner for the neighboring state. In turn Zelenski said that Ukraine will continue to participate in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict.
President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelenski said it is impossible for the Russian Federation to impose plans for the so-called federalization of Ukraine and Moldova.
“Ukraine will provide enormous support so the Territories of our States won’t be Occupied by the Russian Armed Forces. At the same time we made sure that Ukraine will continue to offer comprehensive support to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and will actively participate in the process of negotiating the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict” said the Ukrainian President.
In turn Prime Minister Sandu announced that she discussed three categories of subjects with the President Volodimir Zelenski – Regional Security and European Integration, the bilateral agenda and efforts to build functional institutions for the citizens of both countries.
“I strongly support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and I would like to express my deepest respect for Ukrainians who gave their lives to defend their country, to defend its sovereignty and European future. A few weeks ago Moldova was still controlled from the shadows by an oligarch. He captured the state institutions and exploited Moldova as its own land. Plahotniuc transformed Moldova into a gray zone, infected by corruption, money laundering and dangerous for the economic security and for the borders between Moldova and Ukraine. We put an end to this wrongdoing and we promise that Moldova will become a partner and a trustful neighbor, “ says Maia Sandu.
Maia Sandu spoke of the need for cooperation between Chisinau and Kyiv in the economic and energy fields, borders control, fight against crime and smuggling and also about the environmental issues of the Nistru river.
This is the third official visit made by Maia Sandu as head of the Cabinet of Ministers. At the beginning of July she went to Bucharest and Brussels. On July 16 Maia Sandu will make a visit to Germany at the invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
