The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, will Participate at the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament in Athens
The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, will pay a working visit to Athens. He will take part in the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament in the member states of the Council of Europe, which will take place from 21 to 22 October.
“The topics to be addressed at the conference are the public health crisis COVID-19 and the exchange of experience between states, the role of national parliaments in ensuring the right to a healthy and sustainable environment, the common future of all European citizens,” an information note from Parliament reads.
The European Conference of Presidents of Parliament brings together the presidents of the parliaments of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as the countries with observer or partner status. The event takes place every two years. The first European Conference of Presidents of Parliament took place in 1975.
Moldova became a member of the Council of Europe on July 13, 1995.
