The job titles became officially feminized. The Cabinet of Ministers approved on Thursday, September 30, the structure of the Classification of Occupations in Moldova.
The document was proposed by the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality, as well as the recommendations of the European institutions on ensuring the principle of equality and equity between women and men.
According to the authorities, until the decision to mark the gender of the job titles, the positions were feminized only in cases where the form was attested in lexicographical sources. Occupation names were classified into 10 major groups and 40 major subgroups, 127 minor groups and 433 basic groups.
The classification of occupations in Moldova applies in all fields of economic and social activity and is mandatory for all central and local public administration authorities, enterprises, organizations and institutions, regardless of type of ownership and form of legal organization.
