The General Prosecutor’s Office Proposes to the Government, the Parliament, and the Presidency a Complex Internal Audit in All Public Institutions to Identify Corruption Schemes
The General Prosecutor’s Office proposes to the Government, the Parliament, and the Presidency a complex internal audit in all public institutions in order to confirm or deny the existence of corruption schemes.
The General Prosecutor’s Office argues that this is a mechanism for working with central public authorities to fight high-level corruption.
“The prosecutor’s office supports the current government’s stated goal of exposing and annihilating high-level corruption schemes. More precisely, the General Prosecutor’s Office proposes to the Government, the Parliament, and the Presidency a complex internal audit in all public institutions in order to confirm or deny the existence of corruption schemes,” reads the letter sent by the Prosecutor General to the President of Moldova, the President of the Parliament, and the Prime Minister.
The initiative of the prosecutor’s office also provides for the involvement in this process of the financial and revision institutions. Also, the prosecutor’s office states that it is willing to offer the most experienced and specialized prosecutors to ensure the investigation of corruption schemes.
