The Minister of Interior Requests a Complete Audit on the “entire perimeter of Chișinău International Airport”
Ana Revenco, Minister of Internal Affairs, requested on Tuesday, after an unexpected visit to the Border Police sector at Chișinău International Airport together with the head of the General Inspectorate of Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi, to conduct a “complete audit on the entire perimeter Chișinău International Airport.” This was announced by the Ministry of Interior representatives.
The ministry’s note states that during the visit, the minister discussed the exercise of the duties of border guards, being identified “several worrying gaps.”
Thus, the representatives of the Ministry of Interior claimed that Minister Revenco requested a complete audit covering the entire perimeter of the Airport. According to her, the audit, both internal and external “will identify the priorities needed to ensure security as well as the cooperation of border guards with private companies that ensure the functionality of the institution.”
“I want to receive the conclusions of this audit in 3 days. I no longer trust a private company that claims to handle airport security. I cannot allow suspicions of false reporting, passing of persons and goods through security breaches managed by third parties. Chișinău International Airport is of national strategic importance, with an impact on the security of our country. We do not allow ourselves any moment of weakness in this area! At the same time, I am waiting to receive a set of work proposals based on the results of this audit!,” the minister pointed out.
