USAID Increases Financial Support by $ 29 Million
Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and USAID’s Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Assistant Administrator, Brock Bierman, signed today, July 8, two letters confirming an intention to increase the contribution to development assistance with an amount of 29 million dollars.
According to Maia Sandu, the money offered by the American people will be used for good governance, tourism, information technology and media projects.
“The support received from the US over the years has been important for strengthening democratic institutions and processes in Moldova. US support has been and is important for consolidating the rule of law for reforming justice, building a state that represents and protects Moldovan citizens. This financial support will be used efficiently, transparently and correctly, especially in the interest of all citizens, “said Maia Sandu.
In turn, USAID Bureau for Europe and Eurasia’s Deputy Brock Bierman said the US will continue to contribute to the economic development of Moldova.
