Fighter Irina Rîngaci (19 years old) became world champion among youth, while Mihaela Samoil was defeated in the final, winning the silver medal.
In the final of the 65 kg weight category, Irina Rîngaci, a student of Andrei and Petru Chiperi, defeated a fighter from India 12-2.
At the world championship in Russia, Irina Rîngaci also defeated the American Alara Lea Boyd, the Belarusian Yana Tretsiak, and the Estonian Viktoria Vesso.
In the 53 kg category, Mihaela Samoil, another athlete from Moldova, became world vice-champion in the young category. In the end, she was defeated by the Swede Emma Jonna Malmgren.
In May, this year, the fighter Irina Rîngaci also won the European Championships for athletes under 23, which took place in Skopje, Northern Macedonia, and in April Rîngaci became European champion in senior wrestling.
