A Socialist Deputy Fails to Get the Judge Position at the Constitutional Court
The Superior Council of Magistracy decided on Tuesday, June 15, that Vasile Bolea, the candidate for the position of judge at the Constitutional Court “did not meet the necessary conditions to run for this position.” The competition was canceled due to the fact that no candidate met the necessary conditions.
“With 8 votes, the of the Superior Council of Magistracy decides: a candidate did not meet the necessary conditions to participate in the contest for filling the position of judge at the Constitutional Court,” said the interim president of the Superior Council of Magistracy, Dorel Musteață.
In March, the Socialist deputy Vasile Bolea submitted his candidacy for the position of judge at the Constitutional Court. Another 15 people, most of whom work in the field of justice, have applied for the vacant position at the High Court.
Vasile Bolea is a lawyer at the Socialist Party, and in recent months he has filed several complaints with the Constitutional Court, requesting decisions in favor of the party he represents.

“Following deliberations and consultations, the members of the Superior Council of Magistracy decided that no candidate met the necessary conditions to exercise the position of judge at the Constitutional Court,” said the interim president of the institution, Dorel Musteață.
