The Constitutional Court rejected on Friday, March 19, the Socialist Party’s request to suspend president Sandu’s decree on the appointment of Igor Grosu for prime minister position. The Court motivates its decision by stating that the Socialist deputies did not present sufficient reasons to suspend the president’s decree.
President Maia Sandu proposed Igor Grosu, the current leader of the Action and the Solidarity Party, for the prime minister position. She made the decision after Mariana Durleșteanu, the candidate of the Shor and the Socialist Party withdraw her candidacy. Today, Maia Sandu had consultations with all the parliamentary factions to find a solution to the current political crises. On the next day, the Shor and the Socialist Parties proposed Vladimir Golovatiuc, the Moldovan ambassador to Russia for the prime minister position.
