A Humanitarian Aid From Romania Worth 2.3 Million Euros
The ceremony of handing over the humanitarian assistance provided by Romania will take place tomorrow. It is an emergency humanitarian aid offered to Moldova free of charge as a result of president Klaus Johannis’ visits to Chișinău and of the E.U. Civil Protection Mechanism.
In the first phase, the 2.3 million euros humanitarian aid consists of medical protection equipment – 1.5 million surgical masks, 100,000 masks FFP3, 100,000 overalls, 100,000 disposable gloves.
The ceremony for handing over the humanitarian assistance will take place in the Grand National Assembly Square. The event will be attended by president Maia Sandu; Interim Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi; Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Bogdan Aurescu; Ambassador of the European Union Peter Michalko; State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs Raed Arafat; State Secretary at the Ministry of Health Tatiana Zatîc.
In his visit to Chișinău, president Klaus Iohannis promised a massive support package for Moldova, which includes up to 200,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, 6000 tons of diesel for farmers, and financial support to strengthen civil society and media independence in our country.
