The Constitutional Court Confirms the Constitutionality of Gavrilița’s Second Nomination
The Constitutional Court rejected today the Socialists’ request to suspend Gavrilița’s candidacy for prime minister. The socialists attacked president Sandu’s second nomination labeling it as a dangerous precedent and a usurpation of state power.
The Constitutional Court rejected the request to suspend Maia Sandu’s decree on the nomination of the candidate for the positions of Prime Minister, submitted by Vasile Bolea, Grigore Novac, and Alexandr Suhodolscki, deputies in the Moldovan Parliament.
“Even if the risk is abstract, requests for the suspension of current actions must be convincingly motivated, not by simply listing fundamental values. Just invoking the risk and enumerating some fundamental values is not a sufficient and a convincing motivation to suspend the current notified actions”, it is shown in the Court’s decision.
This decision is final and cannot be subject to any means of attack.
