Maia Sandu Met with David Sassoli, the President of the European Parliament
The President Moldova, Maia Sandu had a meeting with the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli. Sandu says the discussions addressed domestic policy developments, planned reforms on the European agenda, and opportunities for collaboration with the European Parliament on the parliamentary dimension.
“Today I had a meeting with the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, whom I thanked for the constant support of Moldova and our European path. The European Parliament has always been with Moldova, and the European parliamentarians have been constant supporters of the democratic processes in our country. They promoted for many years a more ambitious policy towards our country with diplomatic support and through financial aid for the consolidation of the rule of law and to fight against corruption”, says Sandu.
President Maia Sandu addressed the collaboration on a parliamentary level.
“We addressed internal political developments, planned reforms on our European agenda, and opportunities for collaboration with the European Parliament on the parliamentary dimension. I hope that our dialogue and the deepening of our cooperation will bring real benefits for our citizens.”
