Maia Sandu Had a Meeting with Laura Codruța Kövesi, Chief Prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office
The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a meeting with Laura Codruța Kövesi, Chief Prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, in Brussels, during which the judicial reforms were discussed.
“We discussed the need to drive reforms in the Moldovan judiciary. We also expressed mutual interest in establishing a collaborative relationship between the European Public Prosecutor’s Office and anti-corruption institutions in Moldova. It is a first step to initiate and carry out joint activities in terms of combating smuggling and money laundering”, said Maia Sandu.
The president’s press service previously announced Maia Sandu’s visit to Brussels on January 18-19. On the agenda – meetings with the heads of the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Commissioners, but also with the King of Belgium, Philippe.
