Moldova’s President Meets the President of the Ukrainian Parliament and the Ukrainian Prime Minister
After the meeting with the president, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Maia Sandu, also had a meeting with the president of the Ukrainian parliament, Dmytro Razumkov, and a separate meeting with the Ukrainian prime-minister, Denis Shmygal.
“I had a meeting with Mr. Dmytro Razumkov, president of the Ukrainian parliament, during which I had the opportunity to discuss the cooperation on the parliamentary dimension. We hope to have a functioning parliament soon that will reset Moldovan-Ukrainian relations at the level of parliaments. We have many problems in common that need to be solved, as well as many opportunities for cooperation. A functional, representative parliament is a key institution, an indispensable pillar to make the most of the potential of this strategic partnership,” says Maia Sandu.
President Maia Sandu met with Ukrainian Prime Minister, Denis Shmygal. The two officials exchanged ideas on relaunching bilateral relations, on European integration, regional security, and cooperation in concrete areas that will benefit the citizens of Moldova and Ukraine.
“We discussed infrastructure improvement, intensification of economic exchanges, the fight against corruption and smuggling, the common control at the border, and the worrying ecological situation of the Dniester River. We also discussed the issue of energy security and the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict,” says Maia Sandu.
