A 800,000 Euros Grant from Japan to Fight COVID-19
Japan will provide Moldova with 800,000 euros for the supply of medical equipment. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Aureliu Ciocoi and the Ambassador of Japan to Moldova, Katayama Yoshihiro, signed the Grant Agreement.
The agreement provides for the allocation of a grant of 100 million Japanese yen (equivalent to 800,000 euros) to purchase consumables, products, services and medical equipment.
The capitalization of the assistance will go through several stages: the creation of the Advisory Board, disbursement of financial means, acquisition, supply, and use, according to the destination, of medical equipment.
Earlier, the Tokyo Government granted Moldova a quantity of 12,200 Avigan antiviral pills (Favipiravir), necessary for the treatment of 100 patients infected with COVID-19.
