The elected president of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. Maia Sandu thanked for the support provided by the European Union to Moldova.
Maia Sandu and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel discussed the effects of the pandemic and how the crisis impact can be diminished, noting that Moldova needs support from its partners to help its citizens. The President of the European Council reconfirmed the EU’s support in the process of democratic transformation of Moldova and its European course.
Maia Sandu said that “The European Union has always been a friend to Moldova and has supported our citizens in their desire to live in prosperity and democracy. We emphasized the importance of initiating an immediate and close collaboration and we established that we will have a meeting in the near future in Brussels.”
