PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS: Candidate Maia Sandu Wins the 2020 Elections With Over 57% of the Votes
After processing 99.86% of the votes in the second round of the presidential election, Maia Sandu, the Action and Solidarity Party leader, accumulates 57.63% of the votes, and independent opponent Igor Dodon 42.37%.
The candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu, is heading for victory in the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova. She accumulates more than 57% of the citizens’ votes.
So far, the votes of 1,567,760 Moldovan citizens have been processed. The polling stations’ representatives have drawn up and processed 98.6% of the ballots.
Voting is still taking place in the United States and Canada, and the results will come later.
According to preliminary results, Maia Sandu is to become the first woman president of the Republic of Moldova.
