EU SUPPORT: Up to 30,000 Euros for the Development of the Private Sector in Two Western Regions of Moldova.
28 companies from Ungheni and Cahul districts, Western Moldova, will benefit this year from grants of 15,000 – 30,000 euros. The European Union provides financial assistance for the development of the private sector.
The EU4Moldova: Key Regions Program, funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP, UNICEF launched a comprehensive grant program for current enterprises, startups, and social entrepreneurship initiatives in both western regions in Moldova.
“This grant program will provide support to existing companies, startups, and social entrepreneurship initiatives in both regions, with direct assistance to benefit at least 28 businesses. EU invests approx. 23 million euros in the EU4Moldova: Key Regions Program, with the aim of stimulating inclusive, green, smart, and sustainable economic development. The program is intended for the Moldovan citizens and the initiative is to create opportunities for new jobs and economic development to improve the quality of people’s lives,” said Magdalena Mueller-Uri, Head of Operations at the European Union Delegation to Moldova.
Financial assistance can be used to purchase equipment, goods, works, and services in order to grow the business, create new jobs, and increase the attractiveness of key regions for new investments. The grant program will also be accompanied by free mentoring and training activities to stimulate the entrepreneurial culture of key regions.
The total value of grants for the business environment in the Cahul and Ungheni regions will be offered in the period 2020-2024.
