Socialists Party of Moldova About the MEPs’ Official Note on Irregularities in the Presidential Elections
Representatives of the Socialists Party of Moldova (PSRM) issued a press release this Tuesday, regarding the statements of the President of the European Parliament Delegation to the EU-Moldova Committee, Siegfried Mureşan, the President of the European Parliament Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Andrius Kubilius, and Euronest vice-president Andrzej Halicki. The MEPs issued a declaration stating that “they are concerned about the recent actions of the socialist Government of Moldova, which threatens the integrity of the electoral process.”
Thus, according to the Socialists’ press release: “PSRM is confused about the unfounded accusations of a group of Members of the European Parliament and claims that the parliamentarians’ statements are made based on lack of documentation.”
“We admit that specific political forces in Chisinau misinformed them. At the same time, we are open to communication with the EU officials to inform them as the main source, and we urge them to try to obtain documentation of the situation from state institutions.”
In a recent official note, the MEPs note that they are following “how the recent changes adopted by the Socialists Party undermine the integrity of the electoral process before the 2020 presidential elections.
