Vladislav Clima is the new head of the Chișinău Court of Appeal. A pronouncement on his appointment was published today in the Official Gazette of Moldova.

However, the Head of State signed the document on September 2, without officially announcing it. According to the decree, Vladislav Clima will hold the position for four years, and the decree is active, starting on the date of publication.

Judge Vladislav Clima, the new head of the Chișinău Court of Appeal, is one of the richest magistrates in Moldova. He is the son of the former judge of the Supreme Court of Justice, Nicolai Clima, the one who also led the Superior Council of Magistracy in 2006-2009.

In recent years, Vladislav Clima has distinguished himself with several controversial cases. The magistrate was the head of the court panel, which upheld the decision in 2018, to cancel the election of the Chișinău’s Mayor.
