A Second Vaccine Against COVID-19 Approved by China
According to Agerpres China’s patent office has approved the first vaccine against the new coronavirus. The vaccine is in the third phase of testing, and the Chinese say it could be mass-produced in a short time.
The vaccine is developed by a Chinese pharmaceutical company, CanSino Biologics, and the Chinese Institute of Military Science. It began to be used in late June by the Chinese military after discovering an antibody.
According to the SIPO patent, the vaccine has shown a good response in mice and rodents and can cause the body to produce a strong humoral and cellular immune response in a short time.
The patent states that this vaccine can be mass-produced in a short period of time and that it is quick and easy to prepare. During the third phase of testing, it will be confirmed the safety and efficiency of the vaccine.
According to the research published in July by The Lancet, the tests were performed on more than 500 people. However, other tests on humans in the third phase are needed to confirm whether the vaccine effectively protects against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
