Ten Cultural-Historical Monuments Will Be Refurbished from European Funds
Ten cultural-historical monuments, on both banks of the Nistru River, will be refurbished from European funds as part of the Confidence – Building Measures Program, funded by the EU and implemented by the UNDP Moldova.
The Confidence – Building Measures is a European Union (EU) – funded Program, implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Moldova.
Following a competition, 10 cultural-historical monuments will be restored.
Sixteen cultural-historical monuments have been registered. Ten -historical monuments that will gain the most votes, will benefit from up to 40,000 euros for restoration works.
The 16 cultural-historical monuments, registered are:
- Wind Tower, Stroiești village, Rîbnița district, the north-east of Moldova.
- The grave of the Wittgenstein family, Camenca town, the north-east of Moldova, in the breakaway Transnistria region.
- Synagogue from Rașcov village, Camenca district, the north-east of Moldova, in the breakaway Transnistria region.
- Watermill, Beloci village, Rîbnița district, the north-east of Moldova.
- The first settlement in Moldova, Ofatinți village, Rîbnița district, the north-east of Moldova.
- Underground town, Bicioc village, Grigoriopol district, the south-east of Moldova, in the breakaway Transnistria region.
- The ruins of the church of Rașcov village, Camenca district, the north-east of Moldova, in the breakaway Transnistria region.
- Pushkin Auditorium Building, Bender town, the north-east of Moldova, in the breakaway Transnistria region.
- The bell tower from Vadul-Rașcov, Șoldănești district, the north-east of Moldova.
- Windmill from Gaidar village, the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia, the south of Moldova.
- Digitization of cartoons produced by the Moldova-Film studio.
- Museum of History and Ethnography from Molovata-Nouă, Dubasari district, the east of Moldova.
- Artificial waterfall near Poiana village, Șoldănești district, the north-east of Moldova.
- The tomb of the Macri family, old Dubăsarii village, Criuleni district, the east of Moldova.
- Doroțcaia village museum, Dubăsari district, the east of Moldova.
- The water tower in Șoldănești district, the north-east of Moldova.
Photos of the monuments, as well as information about each of the proposals, can be accessed on the project page. A person can vote only once (only one vote from an IP is accepted) between July 14 and August 3, 2020.
“The voting results will constitute 50 percent of the final score, and the remaining 50 percent of the weight will be the decision of the Group monitoring the cultural heritage of the European Union Program “Confidence-Building Measures”, implemented by UNDP “, writes in a communiqué of the program.
The 16 cultural-historical monuments were selected from a total of 248 initial proposals that were submitted by representatives of local public administrations, initiative groups, NGOs, people, following a public call launched on January 22.
