Top 10: Luxury Cars of officers from NAC
Valeriu Sîrcu, head of operational management of the National Anti-Corruption Centre (NAC), ranks first among employees of NAC with the most and most luxurious cars. He has a Chevrolet and an Opel, both cars being manufactured and purchased in 2012. The last position in the ranking stands an investigations officer, the owner of a BMW X5 car.
On the second place is Michael Gofman, Deputy Head of Service to prevent and combat money laundering at the NAC, who has an impressive wealth. He has two cars Hunday Santa FE model, both worth over 600 thousand lei, seven lands with an area of about 15 ha, a farm, an apartment, a room, three buildings, two garages, 68 sheep and 5 cows, two companies and a bank deposit of 1.8 million lei.
Michael Gofman was hired in 2002 at the Centre for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCECC) as senior controller-reviser. A year later he was appointed deputy head of the Department of combat crime in the financial-banking system and money laundering of Operative Investigations Department at CCCEC, then reorganized into autonomous subdivision Preventing and Combating Money Laundering Service.
CCCEC relegated him, trial reinstated him

With an annual salary of 85 thousand lei, in 2012, Michael Cojocaru, Head of Division in the Directorate of prosecution of NAC, has purchased a Hyundai Tucson in the amount of 360 thousand lei. He also has a Renault Clio worth 32 thousand lei. The last car was involved in a road accident on January 7, 2011, after which Cojocaru obtained a material insurance from an insurance company in the amount of 69 thousand lei, which is twice more than he wrote in the statement wealth that would be worth Renault Clio. Cojocaru is the owner of a house with two accessory buildings, two apartments, a garage and a 12 land terrain.

In total, NAC employees have over 150 personal cars. In particular, they drive car brands: Toyota – 24, BMW – 14, Mercedes – 12, Volkswagen – 12, Opel – 12, Renault – 11, Honda – 10 and other brands. According to information from the statements of assets, most NAC employees have purchased luxury cars in the past four years.

Although NAC chief Viorel Chetraru is not in the top of the ranking, in addition to the service car he also drives a Renault Megane worth 111 thousand lei, and deputy director of NAC, Vadim Cojocaru, a Volkswagen Passat worth 145 thousand lei.
