The President of the European People’s Party, Joseph Daul, is set to pay a working visit to Chișinău on September 5. During the visit, he will meet with Moldova’s Prime Minister Maia Sandu.

The two parties that make up the ACUM Bloc in the current governing coalition – the Action and Solidarity Party and the Platform Party DA – received observer status in the European People’s Party (EPP) in 2017.

The President of the EPP has also scheduled an event at Moldova State University, during which he will share his views with Moldova’s youth on the importance of involving young people in the reforms that Moldova is undertaking on its way to European Integration.

The EPP is one of the three major parties in the E.U. Parliament, holding 221 seats. In December 2017, the leaders of the Platform Party DA and of the Action and Solidarity Party participated in the European People’s Party Assembly in Brussels, where the two parties were given observer status in the EPP.

In 2016, Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti received a delegation from the European People’s Party Group on a study visit to Moldova.
