UPDATE: “Chance” Party admits that electoral materials found by law enforcement officers in the capital were produced on its orders
UPDATE 17:30 The “CHANCE” party, led by Alexei Lungu, a journalist who has worked for several politically affiliated TV stations during his career, admits that materials seized by police belong to him.
“These are mainly souvenirs: T-shirts, caps, pens with the party logo. The “Chance” party states that the documentation on printing services was drawn up in compliance with the law. Representatives of the party say that due to pressure from representatives of the current power, the process of opening a bank account is delayed. For this reason, it is not yet possible to pay for printing services by bank transfer. Until the problem is resolved, the materials will be kept at the printing works and will be sent to the party only after payment has been made. The “ȘANSĂ” party considers that the police acted at the behest of the PAS government, which is trying to intimidate electoral contestants through illegal and abusive methods,” reads a reaction from the political party that appeared in the public space shortly after the Șor party was declared unconstitutional.
Original news:
The General Inspectorate of Police (IGP) announces on Thursday, September 21, that the capital’s police officers have detected and seized a large quantity of electoral materials from an LLC in Chisinau, which is engaged in the printing of newspapers and other related services, “in the absence of documents of legal origin of the raw material”.
Moreover, the materials were made without a contract for the provision of services and without indicating the number of editions, law enforcement officials say.
The goods have been sealed and the police are to establish all the circumstances, the IGP said, without giving further details.
From the images released by law enforcement officials, it appears to be the declared unconstitutional Shor party.
