Man distributing drugs with a two-year-old child in his arms, so as not to arouse suspicion. A member of the “Kitaets criminal organisation” remanded in custody for 30 days
Officers of the Directorate for Combating Organised Crime and the Prosecution Directorate of the National Investigation Inspectorate (INI), under the direction of prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organised Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), announce on Monday, 28 August, the detention of a member of the “Kitaet criminal organisation”, who used his two-year-old child “as a disguise when distributing drugs to clients”. The man was remanded in custody for 30 days.
Often, according to the Moldovan police, he was accompanied by his concubine, who is also to be heard as a suspect, and in some cases the child was also passed on to trusted persons to pick up the drugs from various hidden locations (in parks, parks, forest strips).
“They were selling the drugs right from the apartment where they lived for several months, according to evidence obtained by law enforcement.
The arrest of the criminal authority took place in a gas station, followed by a search of his car and home, from which drugs were seized for forensic examination, accessories for their sale, and an illegally owned revolver made in Ukraine.
After detaining the 43-year-old man, PCCOCS prosecutors presented him with the charge and obtained his remand in custody for 30 days for further investigation with a view to sending the case to trial,” police representatives said in a statement.
The Chisinau Court of Appeal is currently examining his activity in the “Machena criminal organisation”. Previously, the man has been detained since 2007 for various periods for about 10 years, including for drug trafficking.
During the time he was detained in Penitentiary No. 13 – Chisinau, he also had the role of “supervisor” in that location on behalf of the criminal organization “Kitaet” in 2017-2019, as well as in charge of the organization’s cesspool.
Criminal investigations are continuing, during which time the individuals are presumed innocent, according to the law.
