Statements of one of those who “guaranteed” Vladimir Andronachi’s release. Nicolae Beju: “Who doesn’t have five thousand lei lying around to provide as a guarantee”
A day ago, Ziarul de Gardă wrote, with reference to TV8, the names of the people who “guaranteed” Vladimir Andronachi’s release. They are the mayor of the village of Găvănoasa – Vadim Ivanov, the mayor of the village of Zîrnești – Nicolae Beju, the former principal of the “Mihai Eminescu” High School in Cahul – Ala Gaidar and the abbot of the Monastery of the Assumption of the Mother of God in the village of Căpriana, Strășeni district – Archimandrite Filaret.
We tried to contact those who had guaranteed Andronachi’s release, but we only managed to talk to the mayor of the village of Zîrnești, Nicolae Beju.
We asked Beju why he became one of the four guarantors, to which he replied “someone had to be”. “We are acquintances. “
Maybe he has some close people, I am not close, but someone had to be the guarantor”, Nicolae Beju confessed.
Asked if the money he deposited in the court account belonged to him, the mayor of Zîrnești answered with a rhetorical question: “doesn’t the man have five thousand lei in his house?”.
“How do you mean, ‘why did I become a guarantor’? Just ‘because’, that’s what I wanted to do. Who wouldn’t have five thousand lei lying around Why didn’t I become a guarantor for five thousand lei?”, Beju concludes.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office issued a press release on Friday, August 11, announcing that the defense submitted four written requests for guarantees – from two mayors of the Cahul district, an elderly person holding the “Gloria Muncii” order and a representative of a religious cult. However, the institution did not say who the civil servants and the other two people were. PA representatives mention that four payment orders in the total amount of 22 thousand lei, deposited to the court account, were also attached.
