New Head of the National Public Security Inspectorate of the IGP
The National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) of the Inspectorate General of Police (IGP) has a new head, the Ministry of Interior Affairs (MAI) announced on Thursday 10 August. He is Marin Manița.
“In line with the objectives set by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, the head of the INSP will focus his work on reducing intervention time in case of incidents, strengthening response capabilities, as well as strengthening citizens’ trust in the police component.
Another objective of the head of the National Public Security Inspectorate is to take care of the employees, to ensure a professional development climate for them and to increase the level of professionalism among the INSP staff. These goals contribute to ensuring order and security on the streets, to strengthening road traffic safety and to maintaining peace and quiet in communities,” according to the Ministry of Interior.
The new head of the INSP started his work in the Police in the Patrol and Sentry Regiment “Scut” (“Shield”, ed.), where he worked until 2013, when the National Patrol Inspectorate was created. At the INP he worked from 2013 until 2019, for a period he also held the position of deputy head of the institution.
From 2019 to the present, Marin Manița worked in the management body of the State Protection and Guard Service.
Previously, the position of head of the INSP was held by Vitalie Timotin.
