Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă: “The Romanian Government reaffirms its unconditional support for Moldova’s European course”
Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă, on his first official visit to Chisinau, was received today, March 23, by Moldovan President Maia Sandu. The Romanian official underlined Romania’s full commitment to support our country, both on its European course and to strengthen the economic situation and maintain stability and security in the face of the hybrid challenges it is facing.
At the same time, he presented the state of implementation of the support programme financed with 100 million euros by the Romanian Government. In this regard, the Romanian Prime Minister announced the release of the first part of €25 million of this programme, which has been approved by the Romanian Government.
“My visit to Chisinau, a place of heart for Romanians, gives me the opportunity to reaffirm my unconditional support for the Republic of Moldova on its European path, but also for the development of the economy, the implementation of reforms and the well-being of all its citizens. I would like to particularly appreciate the exemplary way in which the authorities of the Republic of Moldova have managed, with broad international support, to manage the security situation and the current threats. Romania will always stand by the Republic of Moldova, no matter how difficult the security issues in the region are”, said Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă.
On his official visit, the Romanian Prime Minister is accompanied by Defence Minister Angel Tîlvăr, Energy Minister Virgil Popescu, Digitisation Minister Sebastian Burduja and the Head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery Mircea Abrudean.
