Members of the Legal Committees of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Romanian Senate, in a joint meeting
Members of the Legal, Appointments and Immunities Committee of the Moldovan Parliament will convene a joint meeting with members of the Legal, Appointments, Discipline, Immunities and Validations Committee of the Romanian Senate. The event will take place from 19 to 22 January in Argeș county.
According to a statement by the Executive, the joint meeting is organised in response to the meetings that the members of the committees had in Chisinau and Iasi, “in continuation of the parliamentary political dialogue initiated in 2022”. Legal professionals will also take part in the discussions.
The event will address issues related to justice reforms: legislative implementation of European bodies’ recommendations and identification of tools for training magistrates.
“Participants will also discuss the prospects for making justice a public and predictable service for business. The agenda of the meeting also includes topics on legal education in schools and the compatibility of the legal professions in Romania and Moldova,” the press release said.
At the same time, the members of the legal committees of the Chisinau Parliament and the Romanian Senate will agree on the creation of working groups and joint initiatives in the legal field.
Olesea Stamate is the chairwoman of the Legal, Appointments and Immunities Committee of the Moldovan Parliament, Vasile Bolea and Veronica Rosca are vice-chairwomen and Igor Chiriac – secretary. Ana Calinici, Artemie Cătănoi, Vasile Grădinaru, Adrian Lebedinschi, Boris Popa, Alexandr Suhodolski and Denis Ulanov are members of the Committee.
