“Get the press conference and the money ready.” BCS MP Alla Darovannaia, forced by the Chisinau Court of Appeal to publicly apologise and pay the Minister of Health 20 thousand lei as moral damages

Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) MP Alla Darovannaia is obliged by the magistrates of the Chisinau Court of Appeal to publicly apologize and pay 20 thousand lei as moral damages to the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, for the information she spread during a press conference in February 2021. The Chisinau Court of Appeal upheld the first court’s ruling on Wednesday 8 December. An announcement to this effect was made on Thursday 8 December by the Minister of Health.
“So, my dear starred companions, prepare the press conference and the money. I told you that the 20 thousand goes to 5 orphaned children that I have helped as many times as necessary, but now I want to put you to help too. 20 thousand lei is important for them. Yesterday, the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the Centre Court, which MP Darovannaia had challenged with great zeal.
So, the decision of the first court remains in force, which obliges her to publicly apologize for the information spread at the press conference of 2 February 2021, organized and held at the seat of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, and the information published and spread on her official Facebook page, which targets me, and being defamatory (…),” the minister said in a Facebook post.
According to Nemerenco, MP Darovannaya is obliged to deny the information in the same way it was spread – in a press conference held at the Parliament’s headquarters, with the invitation of all media representatives and the publication of the text of the denial on her official Facebook page.
“The MP is also obliged to remove all posts referring to me from her Facebook page. She must also pay 20,000 lei in moral damages and cover all legal costs incurred. Ms Darovannaia, I await your apology. Come out again. Courage! Together with your colleague Odnostalco, the medical specialist, because he has already lost a case (…). It will be good for us too. Because there is no other way. That’s what a lady wrote to me in 2019 on the day these comrades dismissed us. I have not forgotten her words. I have them in my heart forever,” said Nemerenco.
Earlier, BCS MP Alla Darovannaia was ordered by the Chisinau Court of Justice, Center Branch, to publicly apologize and pay 24,600 lei to Alei Nemerenco for spreading false and defamatory information that she had illegally received a master’s degree. The decision has been appealed to the Chisinau Court of Appeal.
On February 5, 2021, Ala Nemerenco, then presidential health advisor, announced that she would sue MPs Vladimir Odnostalco and Alla Darovannaia, who had previously asked the Ministry of Health to cancel the order by which Ala Nemerenco received her master’s degree.
“The intention of the presidential advisor with the fake diploma to sue us is as stupid as if she would sue COVID-19 to “ban it by court order,” Alla Darovannaia previously stated.
On 2 February 2021, MPs Vladimir Odnostalco and Alla Darovannaia appealed to the Ministry of Health asking it to annul the order by which Ala Nemerenco received her master’s degree.
