President Sandu and Foreign Minister Popescu, together with the President of France, on their way to Paris for the Conference in support of Moldova
After completing the program of the Francophonie Summit held on the island of Djerba in Tunisia, French President Emmanuel Macron, President Maia Sandu, Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu, head of the French diplomacy Catherine Colonna and the teams of Moldova and France are on their way to Paris, where the Conference in support of Moldova will be held.
“We talked about the steps we are taking to deepen cooperation between our countries, the beneficial impact of French investments contributing to European modernization, as well as the official development assistance needed on the path of reforms initiated by the authorities in the process of European integration,” Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu announced on his Facebook page.
According to him, the topic of the discussions was also the last preparations for the third meeting of the Platform of Support for Moldova, hosted by France and which will start tomorrow in Paris.
“Thank you very much, France, Romania and Germany, co-chairs of the Platform, who together with our friends in the G7, the EU and international organizations send a clear signal on strengthening this new format as an instrument for coagulating the necessary international support for our country. Moldova has good friends, with whom we will succeed in overcoming the dramatic costs of the war on the economy and the energy sector”, Nicu Popescu’s message reads.
